Common Types of Pregnancy Symptom

There are a number of different types of pregnancy symptom and whether or not you suffer from any of them is very much down to the individual mother-to-be. The most common pregnancy symptom is the dreaded morning sickness. However, morning sickness is not always an appropriate name for this pregnancy symptom. Some women do feel nauseous in the morning but this particular pregnancy symptom can actually occur at any time of the day. Quite frequently women actually suffer from morning sickness in the evening or may even be unlucky enough to have the sickness lasting all day. The majority of women find that their sickness subsides after the first few weeks of pregnancy but others have the nausea for longer.

Everyone has different pieces of advice to give women to help alleviate this pregnancy symptom. Obviously, trying to eat a dry piece of toast and sip water slowly are the most common ones but there are some other tried and tested methods. If you suffer from longer bouts of morning sickness then you may want to try some of the other ways of alleviating this pregnancy symptom. Ginger is excellent for helping settle stomach upsets and this can also help relieve some of the discomfort of morning sickness. You can buy ginger tea or make your own drink by infusing freshly grated ginger with boiling water and adding some honey and lemon to taste. Many women find that sipping this ginger drink can help soothe the stomach and counter the nausea of the pregnancy symptom. Nibbling on a ginger biscuit is also helpful.

If you are unlucky enough to suffer with all-day morning sickness then it can sometimes seem that the pregnancy symptom is never going to end but it will! A number of women have found that using travel sickness wrist bands can help lessen the nausea of the pregnancy symptom. These bands exert gentle pressure on a certain point on the wrist which counters travel sickness and also has beneficial effects on the morning sickness pregnancy symptom.

Cravings are another pregnancy symptom that many women suffer from during their pregnancy. You have probably heard about the more strange forms of this pregnancy symptom such as craving coal, soap and tarmac but the vast majority of forms of this pregnancy symptom are far less strange. Basically, the body is telling the woman that it is lacking in a particular vitamin or mineral by creating a craving for ice-cream and pickles or whatever. The best advice is to give in to this pregnancy symptom as the comfort eating aspect can help your general mood as well as pacifying the body.
