There are exceptions and many of those come in the form of the free pregnancy test given at free clinics like Planned Parenthood and others. Community ResourcesAlmost every community has resources where you can find a free pregnancy test. Some hospitals and clinics advertise the free tests on their outdoor signs and billboards. Sometimes medical schools that are affiliated with teaching hospitals give free pregnancy tests when they study sexually transmitted diseases or a certain age group. They usually advertise this in the local paper when they are conducting a study. The Health departments of many larger cities give free pregnancy tests a certain day each week or twice a month. Check with your city health department. If you don't know who to call to obtain assistance in finding a free pregnancy test, make one phone call. You can usually be referred to someone who might know and just about any city office is going to know about community resources that provide free pregnancy tests. ConfidentialityIf you're underage, most of the clinics that conduct the free pregnancy tests won't notify your parents so you won't have that to worry about. You'll have to go through a little counseling with most of them and they'll offer you free condoms. If you need help after the test, the clinic will give you referrals depending upon your need. There's no word yet on any of the free clinics offering free home pregnancy tests however in any city you can still find a clinic that will do a free pregnancy test without asking any questions. Some people don't know where to look to find these clinics but you can look in the yellow pages of your local phone book and you should at least be able to find a community resource of some kind that can give you a referral. It can be scary to be all alone and worry that you are pregnant so the sooner you can find out the better. If you have Internet access you can find a free clinic by doing a search for a free pregnancy test in your city. Don't give up if you don't find a free pregnancy test right away. As many clinics offering them it won't take long to find just what you need.
