Using an Early Pregnancy Test

This will allow the hCG levels to have risen to a level where they are guaranteed to be detected by the early pregnancy test kit. The best time to use an early pregnancy test kit is first thing in the morning when the urine has built up over night.

Doctors and other health professionals can use a blood test to perform an early pregnancy test. This can be done much earlier than a home pregnancy test kit can. In fact, this pregnancy test can be performed 7 days after you ovulate which is about a week before your period is due and still provide accurate results. The accuracy of a blood test being used for an early pregnancy test can be at least 99%. Again, it is important to perform another early pregnancy test if the first was negative and you still have not had a period a week later. Your doctor will also take into account any other factors that may lead to you missing a period before he orders another pregnancy test. Sometimes, there can be mistakes made by the testing lab which affect the result of the early pregnancy test and it is worth having a retest if there is any doubt over the accuracy of the test result.
