They offer two different home pregnancy test kits, the Clear blue Easy Pregnancy Test and the Clear blue Easy Digital Pregnancy Test. Plus or MinusClear blue pregnancy test (Easy) is the only home pregnancy test to display the results with a plus or a minus. The kit comes with either one or two test strips with instructions in both English and Spanish. The test is simple enough with a test strip to be held in the urine stream. The stick will turn pink when enough urine has been absorbed so you won't have to worry about getting enough on the strip. Once the results are ready, in about 2 minutes, the display will show either a plus or a minus on the test strip. The Clear blue Easy pregnancy test advertises 99% accuracy. Unipath Diagnostics displays information and answers questions on their Clear blue pregnancy test website. Concerning a FAQ about the lines in the result window running in different directions, the answer states that "this sometimes occurs when the test does not work correctly," and then the answer further recommends that the user test again using another Clear blue pregnancy test. It seems that if this is a known issue with the Clear blue pregnancy test it should be addressed and fixed rather than simply recommending the user purchase another test and use it. It would be interesting to know how often this happens. Words are used to Display ResultsThe Clear blue pregnancy test (Digital) tells you the results in words (PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT) so you don't have to worry about interpreting the test results yourself. The user still holds a stick in the urine stream but with the digital there is a holder to insert it into usually before the test and after as well. You can use the holder again but only with the Clear blue sticks. While there are not refill packs available, you can purchase the test kits with 1, 2 or 3 test sticks included. If you decide to test again right after the first test, you'll need to wait until the words leave the result window which can take up to an hour. The digital test states on the box that you can test 4 days earlier than you can with the non-digital test kit. If you're able to test earlier it is because the digital kit has a lower sensitivity to the pregnancy hormone hCG. While any home pregnancy test will detect this hormone the more sensitive ones will detect it in a smaller amount than the others. It doesn't have anything to do with the test being digital rather it is the ingredients that make up the test. Regardless of the home pregnancy test you decide to use, see your doctor as soon as possible if you get a positive result or even if you think you are pregnant.
